At Eastwind Community Church, we are committed to providing and helping people discover opportunities for expressing our faith in action. Here are just a few of the ways that Eastwind Community Church is making a difference in the Treasure Valley.
Fill the Gap Community Garden (formerly operated by Create Common Good) is a ministry of Eastwind Community Church springing from the generosity and participation of caring volunteers and partners from our local community. Located on the northwest corner adjacent to Eastwind Community Church, the farm’s purpose is to grow abundant people while granting affordable produce. Learn more and catch up on the latest by visiting their Facebook page: https://facebook.com/fillthegapcommunitygarden/. A new website with additional details will will be added soon! For additional questions, please contact Community Garden Coordinator Ashley Blackwell, phone (239) 699-0020.
Frank Church High School is Boise’s alternative High School for at-risk youth. These kids are making a huge effort in the face of multiple challenges, including homelessness, parents who are incarcerated, poverty, serious health issues, mental illness and the like. Eastwind has partnered with the school to pioneer an innovative new program to provide incentives for these kids to stay in school. We provide funding for clothing, recreational items, ski passes, bicycles and other necessary items, and the school puts kids under academic contracts to receive these incentives. The stories of these kids are heartbreaking, and the success of this program has been astounding
CLICK HERE to listen to a recent 12-minute video about the Frank Church High School program, with an introduction by Pastor Mark Traylor and a message from Jess Hawley, Frank Church teacher and program founder. Jess will update you on progress at the school and provide examples of how Eastwind Community Church is supporting this critical effort and how you can become involved. Also, hear testimonials of students who are being helped by this program and are now heading in a positive new direction in life.
To donate, CLICK HERE to give to the Frank Church High School Incentive Program through the Eastwind Community Church Website. It’s convenient and easy. If you still want to give through the Boise Public Schools foundation for better tax deduction, you can now have your checking account debited instead of a credit card. Go to their website at https://boiseschoolsfoundation49704.thankyou4caring.org/ and follow the instructions. If you donate any outdoor gear or clothing to the following retailers and reference the Frank Church High School Incentive Program, the Incentive Program will receive a majority of the revenue when your donated item(s) sell: Play It Again Sports, Backcountry Pursuit and Outdoor Exchange! You can also give gently used items directly to the Incentive Program as before.
To learn more about how you can participate, either through your contributions or by volunteering with the program, contact Eastwind’s Frank Church coordinator, Chris Hunt | email@example.com or Frank Church teacher and program founder Jess Hawley | firstname.lastname@example.org.

Eastwind has a special Benevolence Fund that enables us to help people in our community with special needs as they arise. These are sometimes members of our congregation, and sometimes people outside of our church who have a need. We help people with heating bills, car repair, short term transitional housing, funeral expenses, medical expenses and the like. If you would like to donate to the Benevolence Fund, simply follow this link to our donations page.
